Letter from Steven Rothstein, President, Perkins School for the BlindJanuary 31, 2008 Dear Friends,
Perkins School for the Blind intends to acquire Adaptive Technology Consulting, Inc. (ATC). ATC is a highly successful distributor and reseller of adaptive technology equipment and support services. A key element of the Perkins strategic plan is the expansion of our adaptive technology services in New England and beyond. During the past few years we have increased our investments in hardware and software adaptive technology, expanded our technology staff, and augmented training for staff and students in other ways. The addition of the ATC staff and services is a critical element of our long term plans to offer more technology services. As many of you know, ATC was established in 1994 by Gayle Yarnall. Gayle is an incredibly hard working, creative, talented individual who is also blind. She has built an impressive team of high quality personnel who have been training students and adults and distributing equipment with a wide range of adaptive technology. Perkins is committed to being a leader in providing technology services. The integration of this group of people and their customers is a critical milestone in that effort. Please see the attached news release to learn more. ATC will be renamed “Adaptive Technology Consulting, a division of Perkins Products”. If you have questions please contact me at Steven.Rothstein@Perkins.org or 617-972-7200 or
Thank you for your interest. We look forward to working together on this new chapter in our service.
