ATC's Staff Page

Welcome to the Adaptive Technology Consulting staff page. Since all of us were such cute kids, we have decided to use photos from our childhood. Somewhere along the way, our pictures got mixed up. Your task is to match the staff photo with the biography. For those of you using screenreaders, each staff photo alt-tag is a short description of how adorable we used to be. Fill in the form text box after each person's name with the matching picture number.

I am the president and founder of Adaptive Technology Consulting. I am totally blind and use a lot of the products we sell and support. In fact for me, this is technology heaven.

I have been in this field for 24 years. I have no idea where the time has gone. I tend to keep track of years by the advances in technology and the growth of my grandchildren. At this point the technology is growing faster than the grandchildren.

I believe that my life has actually been improved by being blind. If I had been sighted, I would probably have just been one of a million people who live their life without seeking out adventure. Being blind has made me someone who is different, people notice me whether I like it or not. I have had endless, exciting opportunities because I am blind. I have traveled extensively both for pleasure and work. Usually it is impossible to tell work trips from pleasure trips.

I have been working with Adaptive Technology Consulting since September of 1995. I provide installation, training and technical support on the products we carry. I have worked extensively with screen readers, print enlargement programs, reading systems and braille production. I spend a good deal of time keeping up with changes in adaptive technology. I have completed formal training on our primary products.

I have four children, ranging in ages from 20 to 12. The youngest two are twins. We live on a lake and spend as much time as possible enjoying the water or ice, depending on the season.

When I first started working here at ATC, I was primarily involved in selling Video Magnifiers. But as time passed (and with encouragement from Gayle), I got more involved with other low vision technology and then eventually became interested in technology for individuals with learning disabilities.

As you may have read earlier, I have given up the position of token male with the addition of Arthur which has forced me to look for other responsibilities in the company. So you can find me working on contracts, training on learning disability software, giving various demonstrations and doing my best to meddle in the affairs of my collegues.

I have a wonderful family; a beautiful (smarter than me) wife with two incredible children. And I live on the other side of the lake from Michelle.

Fate is what I call it--after traveling all around the world, I found ATC right in my town! What a wonderful family I have been welcomed into! I have been working at ATC since the summer of 2002.

I'm the person who processes your orders and provides you your order status. Also, I do the accounts payable and receivables. I also provide training to some of our clients.

For the past 25 years, I have worked in customer support for technology companies.

My fantastic husband, Jake, and our terrific son, Joe, are my balance in life. They make me laugh and remind me not to take things so seriously. You can find us in the summer months on our boat, "Travis McGee", enjoying life and each other.

I wear many hats at ATC. I wear the salespersons hat, Webmasters hat, and the Lunch Procurement Specialist hat. My past experience includes wearing many different hats entirely, including selling fireplaces and hardware hat, and developing Web sites for the government hat.

At ATC, I go to peoples homes and businesses and show them what using Adaptive Technology is like. Helping people to see life better is amazing and rewarding. The saying that the little things in life are what matter is true. In my short time here I've helped people do crossword puzzles again after many years, and helped people regain responsibility for their checkbooks and reading for pleasure. These are things most of us never think twice about.

As I go along in life, I am amazed at how you always wind up doing what you are supposed to be doing.

I am a Low Vision Consultant. I have over 23 years of experience in vision related fields. I was a teacher of the visually impaired, and ophthalmic technician, and a low vision consultant.

I find my work very rewarding, but my family is my real source of joy. I have a saint for a husband and two great boys all of whom keep me grounded and laughing.

We live in New Hampshire and are waiting for our house on the lake like everyone else here seems to have.

Yes. Amantha is my name. For starters, I have no “s” (We were so poor we couldn’t afford an “s”) and somehow I have a “th” where some people think a “d” should be.

As a recent arrival at ATC, my job is to do as I am told. So I am answering the phone, setting up appointments and getting familiar with the products and services we provide.

My employment history is varied with past jobs in apartment maintenance, fit modeling, lawn mowing, sewing and alterations, college program coordinator, teacher, office manager and director of volunteers for a non-profit. In my spare time I volunteer at my church, the library and sit on a charitable board (sounds uncomfortable, eh?)

I live in Newburyport with my husband of 34 years and try to keep track of where our two adult sons are, as they travel the globe with their jobs.
